Laveen rainstorm

For the third weekend in a row, it rained here in Laveen. (I am so ready for the 100 degree days). Just a seven miler for this Sunday. While hiking back home, I waited in the rain to cross a rather busy 51st Ave at Carver Road. I had two people stop to ask me if I was OK or needed a ride. What nice people. One gentleman had a rather cute Pug puppy.

It must have been some sight seeing a middle aged man walking without a jacket in the 50 degree rain near Phoenix. Thanks for asking me if I needed a ride.

Windows 2003 Server Error.

Finally discovered the solution to a Windows 2003 server error that I was experiencing. I had an issue adding permissions to a shared folder on a server. When I clicked "add" (Group or User Names) I received the following error; "Unable to display the user selection dialog. (null)". The only thing I could find on the web referred to a Windows XP error regarding riched32.dll. There was no information regarding Windows 2003 R2 server. I rebooted the server to see if that would fix the problem. It didn't. I did have an error log saying the the riched32.dll didn't load. At this point, I was onto something.

To fix the problem I copied the same dll from a donor 2003 R2 server. I renamed the old dll and replaced it. I then rebooted the server. No issues on reboot. Problem solved.

The original file did not appear to be corrupted. The File Version I installed was identical. 5.2.3790.0 Weird.

Bimini Bob's in Daphne, AL

Mobile Bay View

Stopped at Bimini Bob's two weekends ago for lunch. We were on our way to Pensacola. Bimini Bob's is right on Mobile Bay in Daphne, AL. Pix is from the patio facing west. Notice the ring toss in the foreground. Downtown Mobile rises from the background.

The menu features conch in two delicious forms: cracked and fritters. Reminded us of our week in Grand Bahama. My how we like conch. The only thing missing was a grilled snapper filet.

Been busy.

San Jacinto

Spent this last weekend out in Palm Springs visiting friends. The prior week as busy with plenty of work. The image is of San Jacinto Peak from Palm Springs, CA. An early spring snow storm dusted the eastern faces. This storm was warm. Notice the high snowline. I'll post a better pix from the D90.

The view from the top is incredible. Muir described it as one of the best on the planet.
